What is a plancha?

A plancha is a gas cooking appliance. Thanks to its hot plate, it captures all types of food, including meat, vegetables and fish.

Of Spanish origin, Vivaplancha planchas have 2 burners or 3 burners and are of different sizes, 53 x 35 cm (models: GASPACHO and FLAMENCO) or 68 x 35 cm (models LIMÓN and PIMIENTOS).

This offers you a pleasant space to cook your favourite dishes. The gas boards are perfect for an outdoor kitchen. It is a friendly cooking appliance that will not require a lot of preparation time unlike a barbecue.

How to choose the cooking plate for your griddle?

We offer two types of cooktops to choose from. The first one is made of enamelled steel and the second one of solid stainless steel. These two plates each have different advantages.
It is important for you to choose the one that best suits your kitchen and the frequency of use of your plancha. All our baking trays are 6 mm thick.

The thickness of the baking plate is important because it will guarantee a good resistance of the plancha.


Our cooktops have high back edges to protect the wall from cooking projections. The upper edges of the plate also allow you to turn your food easily.

What are the advantages of enamelled steel?

The enamelled steel baking plate is very resistant. It is covered with an enamel (double layer) which perfectly protects your plate from any type of oxidation. One of the main reasons why the enamelled steel plate is so popular is that it is anti-sticky.

Proof of its high quality and thanks to the steel used, the enamelled plate offers a perfect heat distribution in only a few minutes. The surface of the plate will be equitably heated from one side to the other offering you an even cooking over the entire surface of the plate.

It is also important to know that the enamelled steel plate will not deform over time because it has a thickness of 6 mm.

The plate requires a fast maintenance but regular maintenance at the end of cooking. Water must be poured on the hot plate to release the grease and use a scraper to bring the residue into the bin. The plate is as new and the stainless steel tray is dishwasher safe.

What are the advantages of stainless steel?

The stainless steel plate has the particularity of being extremely robust and very resistant over time. It ages very well, we can even say that it is the most durable material for a plancha. A perfect baking plate for outdoor use because stainless steel will not rust.
Another great advantage of the stainless steel plate is that it has a high scratch resistance which allows you to cut your food on the hob without risk of damaging it.

How thick are your baking sheets?

The thickness of the cooker plate is 6 mm, which allows an excellent heat diffusion on the whole plate andvery good strength. With this plate thickness you will not have any deformation of the plate despite the high heat. The stainless steel and enamelled plates are designed to withstand temperatures above 400°C without deforming.

What are the power differences between the 2-burner and 3-burner planchas?

The burners power represents the heating power of your plancha. A high power allows you to bring your plate to temperature very quickly and to grasp actually your foods.

The difference between the planchas 2 burners LIMÓN, FLAMENCO (5000 w power) and 3 burners PIMIENTOS and GASPACHO (7500 w power) is not felt since it is proportional to the plate surface.

Why is the grease trap located at the front of the griddle?

The grease collection is done at the front for easier maintenance. Thus, the back of the plate has high edges to be able to turn its food easily.

The grease trap is completely removable thanks to a small handle on the side of the plancha. All in stainless steel, so it is easy to detach it and put it in the dishwasher in order to clean it : nothing simpler !
